Children at Crosby Ravensworth CE Primary school won’t be wearing red noses tomorrow (15th March) as part of their commitment to reducing unnecessary plastic waste.
The school council made the decision after concluding the plastics would simply end up at a landfill site. Pupils will now paint their noses red instead and bring in their donations for the school to send. The school council said: “We will be raising money as usual for Comic Relief on Friday because it’s a great charity that helps people who are less fortunate than us. However, we won’t be buying any red noses as they are yet another example of single-use plastic - we believe that is bad news for our environment.”
