Reception

Hi Timmy!  How are you today?  Are you ready for some more phonics? Great!

 

Activity 1.  Choose some sound cards from the sounds you have learnt, especially the more recent ones.  Now choose one of the Activity 1 games you really like and practise those sounds.  Here's some music for you to use:

Activity 2.

 

Timmy,  look at the picture.  What words could you use to describe the man?  (Hoping that one of the words he will choose is "strong.")  This is a Strongman!  Let's think about the word strong.  If you use you Robot Arms to sound out the word, what sound can you hear at the end of the word?  Click on the video to learn more about our new sound.

Timmy, can you be a Strongman?  Try bending your arms to show your muscles and saying "ng"!

Activity 3.  If you look at the link from Activity 2 there are some games on the right hand side.  Please click on the game  "Sorting Sounds".  This will help you practise today's sound, as well as other sounds you've done recently.

Activity 4.  Here are some words with the ng sound.  Can you use these words to help make a sentence or two.  Can you write the sentence on your white board?

 

ring, king, sing, long,  wing,  song

 

 

Activity 5.  Tricky Words.  Please look at your new Tricky Word Activity Book and choose a page you'd like to do today.

 

Activity 6.  Let's play at being a strong man!  Can you create some sports activities or an Obstacle Course that a  Strongman could use to keep him strong!  Have fun!
