Halving
This week you child has been learning about double and halves in school.
Have a go at this little investigation...walk around your house and decide which things would be good to half and which thing definitely wouldn't. For example, an apple or pizza would be good to half, so would a group of teddies or coins. A chair would not be good to half or the kettle!
You could finish by asking your child some quick fire double and half questions; what is double 4, what is half of 8 etc. They should recognise the link between doubles and halves being the opposite of each other.
