Reception

Please can Timothy go over the letters he has done so far. He could watch this video and encourage him to do the actions. If you are unsure of any Rebecca, (there are a lot to remember!) they are in his phonics book or explained in this videeo.

 

I have assessed Timothy on his sounds this week and out of set 1 and 2 , he is weakest on p, h, d, i (sometimes says e).

 

  • If you could have pairs of those letters, you could turn them face down and then get him to find the matching pairs.
  • Read- can use the letters now to make 3 letter words and get Timothy to read them. Are they real or nonsense?
  • Initial sound - if spelling out a three letter word, Timothy has a tendency to blend the first two letters eg.

         m-a-p, he might say ma-p. Can you go round the house and point to a few things eg. peg, pen, hat, car, bin             and get him to clap each sound as he spells them out.

 

Lastly we are working on Timothy writing his name correctly. We are writing Timmy just now ( less letters!). If he had a card to look at that would help and please ensure he starts his letters at the top and forms them correctly. Thanks.
