Spelling- days of the week

 

Please recall the spellings of Saturday and Sunday from yesterday and practice Monday for today's diary entry.

Monday 1st June 2020

On Monday it was another really hot day! I started the day by making pancakes for my children with eggs from my friend’s hens. After that I did some work for school on the computer. In the evening I met my friend and her dog Barley and we went for a walk to Shap Abbey.

 

Writing

 

Please write a diary entry for yesterday. It may seem like we are doing a lot of writing this week but I want to keep up the Year 1's writing skills and perseverance in preparation for entering year 2.

 

Don't forget kids: 

  • write the date at the top
  • to say what you are going to write out loud before you write it
  • start sentences with a capital letter and finish with a full stop or exclamation mark
  • use 'and' to join sentences
  • add some describing words
