  • Easter in Church

    Thu 01 Apr 2021

The children attended a special Easter service of communion in church this week with Stewart.  The restored church organ sounded fantastic when David played the hymns for us to sing.  Some of the children who have had preparation classes went up to receive the holy communion and everyone else went to the altar for a blessing.

On the way out, Alex gave some of the children crosses from Palm Sunday that had been made from Palm leaves.

Before going to church, children in Class 2 read about the Last Supper in the book of Matthew then acted out what happened using pitta bread and cranberry juice.  Children in Class 1 made some lovely Easter cakes and ate Hot Cross Buns as they learned about the Easter story.

At the end of the day, children at afterschool club each made a mini garden with a tomb to remember what happened to Jesus after the crucifixion and the miracle of the resurrection when his body disappeared.
