  • Crosby Ravensworth Children have their Willow Chapel blessed

Tue 12 Jun 2018 Mr Priestley

Children from Crosby Ravensworth CE Primary School are pictured at a service of blessing, conducted by Rev Stewart Fyffe at which their newly constructed willow dome was dedicated as an outdoor chapel.

The willow dome has had a round 'window' added, which looks out directly onto St Lawrence's Church in the village. It was constructed by Forest Schools expert, Dave Corrie, who has been booked to help the children make their own pews and an altar from outdoor materials.  At the service, Rev Stewart prayed that the children be blessed whenever they gather to play, pray, worship or just come for quiet. The children are excited by the idea of role-playing and have already begun to organise a 'vicar' rota each week!
