Lyvennet Nursery where learning is fun

Please click the 'Documents for parents' documents below to find the Lyvennet Nursery prospectus, or the results of their most recent Ofsted inspection.

As a result of our recent EGM we now have a new committee who are dedicated to working with the staff to keep our wonderful nursery open. If you would like to join us or have some fund raising ideas please use the email below to contact us.

The Lyvennet Nursery Group is a registered charity offering nursery provision for children from 2 years to school age, based at Crosby Ravensworth School. The nursery is a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and is fully registered with Cumbria County Council Social Services. The Nursery Manager is Lin Ball with Janet Harrison as Assistant.

At present children attend three sessions per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 2pm). They may have a school lunch if you wish. The session times mean that parents can claim the full 15 hours nursery grant for their child. The maximum nursery intake is twelve children to attend for any one session.

The nursery staff work closely with the teaching staff, ensuring that the transition from nursery to Reception is effortless and enjoyable for the children. Children enjoy a smooth passage through the Early Years Foundation Stage.

In Novmber 2016 the nursery was inspected by Ofsted and we were awarded GOOD in all areas. Our good results are achieved by the hard work of the dedicated and knowledgeable nursery staff and through the strong partnership and support received from the school. The staff create a rich, challenging and safe environment, which ensures all children receive a secure and stable start in preparation for their first year in school.

The nursery benefits from continual support from parents through fundraising and from the Trustees of the school.

It is the mission of all those involved within the nursery that a high standard of pre-school education will continue, and this will hopefully be aided by commitment and support from the wider community. If you would like a copy of the prospectus, please contact the school office or email
